Hyderabad: BRS president and former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday appointed BRS deputy floor leaders for the Telangana Assembly and the Legislative Council.
In the Assembly, KCR named T Harish Rao, Patlolla Sabitha Indra Reddy, and Talasani Srinivas Yadav as deputy floor leaders. He appointed L Ramana and Pochampally Srinivas Reddy as deputy floor leaders in the Legislative Council. KCR also named Deshapati Srinivas as the party whip in the Council.
Party leaders said the appointments aimed to improve coordination during the ongoing legislative session. The leadership wanted clearer responsibility sharing among senior members in both Houses.
Deputy floor leaders assist the floor leader during debates and discussions. They also coordinate legislators during key business and voting. The roles help the party respond in an organised manner to legislative developments.
The appointments came at a time when the BRS is preparing for an active role as the opposition. Party sources said the leadership wanted better communication between lawmakers and senior leaders.

The Assembly session began on Monday with members raising several local issues during Zero Hour. Legislators drew attention to problems related to public services and infrastructure.
Members from different districts highlighted delays in development works. They urged the government to address pending administrative matters. Opposition legislators pressed the government on unresolved constituency issues.
The discussions marked an active start to the session. Party leaders said the newly appointed BRS deputy floor leaders would ensure coordinated participation in debates. They would also support senior members in both the Assembly and the Council.
