KCR SIT interrogation reflects vengeance politics, says Dasoju Sravan

Hyderabad: MLC Dr. Dasoju Sravan on Monday termed the five-hour KCR SIT interrogation an act of political vendetta and said it would not weaken the former Chief Minister’s legacy.

Addressing a media conference in Asifabad along with MLA Kova Lakshmi and RS Praveen Kumar, he accused the Congress government of abusing power. Moreover, he warned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy that hurting the emotions of four crore people would invite political consequences.

According to Sravan, KCR continued to remain a father figure for Telangana. Drawing a parallel, he compared the former Chief Minister to tribal icon Komuram Bheem. While Bheem fought for “Jal, Jangal and Zameen,” Sravan said KCR realised the dream through “Neelu, Nidulu and Niyamakalu.” He further added that welfare schemes launched under KCR had inspired programmes across the country.

Turning to governance, Sravan accused the Congress of coming to power through false promises. Initially, he said the government claimed the treasury was full. However, it later declared the coffers empty. Therefore, he described the contradiction as proof of administrative failure.

KCR SIT interrogation highlights misuse of power, says MLC

Sravan alleged that initiatives such as HYDRA and the Musi River rejuvenation had turned into channels for corruption. At the same time, he said the government ignored core promises. These included the ‘tola of gold’ benefit under Kalyana Lakshmi and the long-delayed Job Calendar.

Objecting to the Chief Minister’s language, Sravan said the office of the CM demanded dignity. In contrast, he argued that repeated SIT actions against a former Chief Minister damaged democratic norms and set a dangerous precedent.

The BRS leader also referred to the distress of retired government employees. Accordingly, he said authorities denied pensions and pending benefits to many retirees. As a result, he warned that public anger among the elderly continued to rise.

Looking ahead, Sravan said the Congress government still had over two years left in office. Instead of pursuing vendetta, he urged Revanth Reddy to focus on governance. Otherwise, he warned, revenge politics would only hasten political decline.
