Hyderabad: The state government approved Khammam road expansion with Rs 594 crore to widen five key routes and improve district connectivity.
Issued under GO MS No.15 dated March 16, 2026, the sanction aims to upgrade major roads into four-lane corridors. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka played a key role in securing the funds.
Officials said the Khammam road expansion will link rural areas with urban centres. As a result, it will ease transport of agricultural produce and reduce travel time across key constituencies.
The project will benefit Khammam, Wyra and Madhira regions. Moreover, it is expected to boost local economic activity and lower logistics costs for farmers and traders.
The works will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model. Therefore, authorities expect faster implementation and improved infrastructure outcomes.

Under the Khammam road expansion, the Wyra to Jaggayyapet stretch will be widened to four lanes. The 25.2-km project received Rs 151.20 crore and will pass through multiple villages including Bonakal and Seethanagaram.
