Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy on Monday said Telangana will play a crucial role in realising the national goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, citing a decade of economic progress and the state’s increasing prominence in sectors like pharma and aerospace.
Speaking at the Telangana Rising Global Summit in Bharat Future City, Reddy said foreign investment in India had surged in the last 10 years due to the central government’s transparency, accountability, and investor-friendly policies. He declared that India had become the top investment destination for global firms.
He noted that India now ranks second globally in mobile phone manufacturing and that national highway construction has increased by 70 percent over the last decade. Thje Union Minister added that India’s metro rail network expanded from 240 km in 2014 to 1,013 km at present.
Kishan Reddy pointed out that 2014 was not only the year Telangana became a state but also when Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office. Since then, he said, Telangana had recorded significant growth in various sectors.
Hyderabad seen as pillar of Indian economic strength
Highlighting Hyderabad’s strategic role, Reddy said the city is no longer just the state capital but a key national hub for trade and the economy. He described it as “a pillar supporting the strength of India’s economy.”
He added that Hyderabad had firmly established itself as both a pharma hub and aerospace centre, and emphasised the need to strengthen the city’s brand image beyond political differences.
According to Kishan Reddy, India has emerged as one of the safest investment destinations globally, and Telangana has also made notable progress in several sectors. He asserted that the central government continues to extend strong support to Telangana’s development and that the state will remain pivotal in fulfilling the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
