Hyderabad: Komatireddy Venkat Reddy reviewed the implementation of the Praja Palana 99-day action plan during a meeting with officials and public representatives in Nalgonda.
The Roads and Buildings Minister said the Telangana government launched the programme to strengthen governance and ensure welfare schemes reach people in both villages and towns.
He added that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy initiated the programme after consultations with ministers to improve service delivery.
According to the minister, the initiative aims to bring government administration closer to the public.
Praja Palana 99-day action plan stresses accountability of officials
During the meeting, Komatireddy said the reputation of the government largely depends on the performance of officials.
Therefore, he asked officers to perform their duties responsibly under the Praja Palana 99-day action plan.
He also directed district collectors to conduct frequent field visits and monitor welfare hostels. The minister said regular inspections are necessary to prevent incidents such as food poisoning in hostels. Furthermore, he expressed concern about the rising number of road accidents.
According to him, road accidents are claiming more lives than diseases in several areas. Therefore, district authorities must organise awareness programmes under the Arrive Alive campaign to promote road safety.
Komatireddy also said the government continues to implement welfare programmes despite financial constraints. In addition, he addressed long-standing development issues affecting the Nalgonda region. Referring to the fluoride problem in drinking water, he said the government plans to complete the Srisailam Left Bank Canal Project by June 2028.
The project aims to bring water from the Krishna River for both drinking and irrigation purposes. The minister also said the government remains committed to the Musi River Rejuvenation Project. According to him, the project will help improve water supply in several affected areas.
He added that such initiatives will strengthen governance and accelerate development across Telangana.
