Hyderabad: Forest officials fined Gulf Oil Corporation Limited ₹20 lakh in Kukatpally for unauthorised tree cutting. Residents had reported the incident earlier.
Officials confirmed that trees were removed inside the company premises without permits. The fine was collected on September 8.

District Forest Officer Sudhakar Reddy said the fine was paid, but a case was also filed. He warned that tree felling without clearance will attract strict action.
In Siddipet, municipal officials earlier fined residents ₹1 lakh for cutting five trees without approval. Authorities said fines are part of efforts to protect green cover.
