Hyderabad: Congress leaders sought a special voter registration drive for eligible minority graduates in Hyderabad ahead of the forthcoming Graduate MLC elections. Congress Graduate MLC candidate Sama Mohan Reddy and former Rahmat Nagar Corporator C.N. Reddy submitted the request to Minorities Welfare and Public Enterprises Minister Mohammed Azharuddin. The two leaders met the Minister during a courtesy visit and urged him to facilitate special registration camps for minority graduates.
They said the proposed initiative would help eligible graduates enrol as voters and participate in the electoral process. Moreover, they stressed the importance of reaching graduates who lacked sufficient information about voter registration requirements.
The leaders also asked for awareness programmes explaining the registration procedure, eligibility conditions and documents necessary for enrolment. They sought dedicated registration camps to assist eligible minority graduates in completing the required formalities.
Minority graduates voter registration drive to focus on awareness
According to the leaders, coordinated efforts were necessary to ensure that eligible graduates from minority communities did not miss the registration process. They emphasised that broader awareness and accessible enrolment facilities would support participation in the forthcoming Graduate MLC elections.
Furthermore, they urged the Minister to extend his support for organising the proposed programmes and registration camps. Sama Mohan Reddy and C.N. Reddy also highlighted the importance of inclusive democratic participation among graduates from minority communities.
Finally, they sought Azharuddin’s assistance in facilitating the drive and encouraging eligible graduates to complete their enrolment. The request focused on expanding access to voter registration information and ensuring wider participation among minority graduates in Hyderabad.
