New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday welcomed the Macron visit to India, expressing confidence that the trip would elevate bilateral ties to new heights.
In a statement posted by PIB Delhi, the Prime Minister extended a warm reception to French President Emmanuel Macron. He said the engagements scheduled in Mumbai and later in Delhi would inject fresh momentum into the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Highlighting the importance of the Macron visit, Mr. Modi stated that discussions between the two leaders would strengthen cooperation across sectors. He added that the partnership would benefit not only India and France but also contribute to global progress.
In separate posts on X, the Prime Minister conveyed his personal welcome to the French President. “Welcome to India!” he wrote, while expressing optimism about advancing bilateral ties. He further said he looked forward to detailed discussions in Mumbai and later in Delhi.
Engagements planned during Macron visit
The Prime Minister noted that the Macron visit includes key engagements in Mumbai before official talks in Delhi. He emphasised that these interactions would deepen collaboration under the India–France strategic partnership.
Mr. Modi reaffirmed that India and France share strong cooperation across multiple sectors. Therefore, he expressed confidence that the visit would expand existing areas of collaboration and open new avenues.
He concluded his message by addressing President Macron as a “dear friend,” signalling the close personal rapport between the two leaders.
