Udaipur: The Ministry of Food Processing Industries organised the MoFPI Chintan Shivir in Udaipur to accelerate growth in India’s food processing sector through policy reform and innovation.
The two-day MoFPI Chintan Shivir began at a hotel in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It aimed to strengthen the food processing ecosystem through entrepreneurship, collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Addressing the inaugural session, Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan said the government remained committed to building a modern and inclusive sector. He added that food processing would raise farmer incomes, reduce post-harvest losses and support large-scale job creation.
Moreover, the minister said the sector would strengthen agri-value chains and expand export potential. He also stressed that sustainable growth in food processing aligned with national development priorities.
Senior ministry officials attended the inaugural session. These included MoFPI Secretary Avinash Joshi, Special Secretary Asit Gopal and Joint Secretary Devesh Deval, along with industry representatives.

MoFPI Chintan Shivir highlights innovation and entrepreneurship
During the inaugural session, MoFPI released key publications on technology-led transformation in food processing. The ministry also showcased success stories of start-up grant challenge winners and entrepreneurs supported by NIFTEM.
Meanwhile, officials said the MoFPI Chintan Shivir would focus on action-oriented strategies. These include enhancing processing capacity, improving ease of doing business and strengthening infrastructure.
In addition, participants discussed ways to promote entrepreneurship and attract investment into the food processing sector. Officials said the deliberations would help shape future policy and industry collaboration.
