Hyderabad: Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy has enforced new operating hours for liquor outlets in Munugode. He directed that wine shops open only after 1 PM.
Despite existing state norms, Reddy instructed all shops in his constituency to follow his revised timings and operational rules. He stated that these changes were aligned with the promises made during the previous tendering phase.
According to the new directive, not only will the liquor shops in Munugode open post-1 PM, but permit room access will also be restricted until after 6 PM. Shop owners have reportedly agreed to follow the revised timings.

The decision is aimed at regulating liquor sales and consumption patterns in the constituency. It has drawn attention as it diverges from standard regulations followed elsewhere in the state.
Rajagopal Reddy’s directive emphasises stricter local control and adherence to norms designed specifically for the Munugode region.
