Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy will inaugurate the summit on March 23 at the SCOPE Convention Centre in New Delhi. Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey and senior officials will attend the event.

The summit will focus on better utilisation of District Mineral Foundation funds in Aspirational District Programme and Aspirational Block Programme areas. Therefore, it aims to improve outcomes in mining-affected regions.

National DMF Summit 2026 to drive policy reforms

The Ministry conducted consultations with states and districts ahead of the summit. It shared a concept note in January 2026 and held virtual discussions to gather inputs.

Subsequently, states organised internal meetings and submitted recommendations. Based on these inputs, the Ministry prepared a final document to guide discussions.

The summit will examine governance, transparency and impact assessment of DMF funds. In addition, it will explore ways to improve convergence with national development programmes.

Presentations by state representatives and institutions will support these discussions. This process aims to identify practical solutions and best practices.

On the sidelines, an exhibition will showcase successful DMF-funded projects. These include initiatives in health, education, water supply and skill development.

Overall, the National DMF Summit 2026 aims to strengthen coordination and improve fund utilisation. It seeks to promote inclusive and sustainable development in mining-affected regions.
