Navy Day demonstration highlights coordinated manoeuvres and frontline maritime assets
The demonstration featured synchronised manoeuvres by frontline platforms. These reflected the Navy’s ability to project precision and power across maritime domains. More than twenty ships and submarines took part, including the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. Air assets and Marine Commandos (MARCOS) joined the display, offering a broad picture of operational excellence.
Cultural performances complemented the operational showcase. The Sea Cadet Corps presented the Hornpipe dance. Naval personnel performed a Continuity Drill with rapid and coordinated sequences. The evening ended with a Beating Retreat and a traditional sunset ceremony as Naval ships lit up the coastline.
Navy Day commemorates the Navy’s critical contribution during Operation Trident in the 1971 war. The milestone continues to inspire modern capability development. Guided by the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the Navy has moved from a Buyer’s Navy to a Builder’s Navy. This shift reflects rapid modernisation and strengthened maritime autonomy.
Op Demo 2025 reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to maritime security and partnerships. It also underscored support for a rules-based order aligned with the vision of MAHASAGAR, which promotes collective security and growth across regions.
