NMDC posts highest-ever production and sales in nine months of FY26

New Delhi: NMDC recorded its highest-ever production, sales and financial performance during the first nine months of FY26, driven by strong volumes and steady operational execution, the company said on Tuesday.

In January 2026, NMDC achieved its best-ever monthly output and sales. The company produced 5.56 million tonnes of iron ore and sold 4.79 million tonnes. This reflected a year-on-year growth of 9% in production and 7% in sales for the month.

Cumulative figures up to January 2026 showed sustained momentum. NMDC’s iron ore production rose to 42.65 million tonnes, marking a 19% increase over the same period last year. Sales also climbed to 39.73 million tonnes, registering a growth of 9.7%.

On the financial front, NMDC delivered its strongest nine-month performance since inception. Revenue rose 22% to ₹20,381 crore during FY26 so far.

NMDC FY26 performance boosted by volumes and new mining assets

Profit before tax increased 5% to ₹7,280 crore, while profit after tax rose 4% to ₹5,401 crore. EBITDA stood at ₹7,666 crore, reflecting a growth of 5% during the nine-month period.

The company also announced an interim dividend of ₹2.50 per equity share for its shareholders. NMDC said record volumes and consistent operational efficiency supported the financial results.

January 2026 also marked a strategic milestone for the miner with the inauguration of its first coal mine, the Tokisud North Coal Mine in Jharkhand. The move signalled NMDC’s portfolio diversification beyond iron ore.

The company said it remained on track to meet its annual targets. It added that its focus on responsible mining, operational resilience and long-term growth continued to strengthen its leadership position in India’s mining sector.
