Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said certain groups were attempting to trigger communal incidents in Hyderabad and urged the local police to act firmly to prevent disturbances.
He said most such incidents occurred at night and revolved around issues that held no real relevance. According to Owaisi, these acts aimed only to create communal controversy. He cited claims ranging from posters being thrown to minor incidents being exaggerated for provocation.
Owaisi questioned the police response in these cases. He pointed out that Hyderabad had one of the country’s most extensive CCTV networks and advanced facial recognition systems. He said the police should prevent such incidents, especially in sensitive areas.
He also recalled that some of these locations had witnessed communal violence during the 1980s and 1990s. Owaisi said those areas required constant vigilance to ensure peace.

Owaisi said he and his party had worked consistently to prevent communal differences in Hyderabad. He added that local communities had also supported efforts to maintain harmony. However, he alleged that certain forces linked to a political party did not want peace to prevail in the city.
Calling for immediate action, Owaisi asked the police to investigate these incidents thoroughly. He also appealed to residents not to react to provocations. He said Hyderabad required peace to progress and develop.
