PM to distribute over 61,000 appointment letters at Rozgar Mela

New Delhi: Under the Rozgar Mela initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 61,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth in various central government departments on January 24, 2026.

The Prime Minister will hand over the appointment letters at 11 am through video conferencing and address the recruits on the occasion. Officials said the event marked the 18th edition of the national recruitment drive.

The programme reflects the Centre’s stated priority of employment generation. Since the launch of the initiative, authorities have issued more than 11 lakh recruitment letters through similar events organised across the country.

According to officials, the initiative aims to shorten recruitment timelines and ensure timely induction of personnel into public institutions. It also seeks to provide transparent and merit-based employment opportunities to youth from different regions.

The newly recruited candidates have been selected from across India. They will join various ministries and departments of the Government of India, depending on their respective roles and postings.

Rozgar Mela to induct recruits across key ministries

The 18th edition of the programme will take place simultaneously at 45 locations nationwide. These venues will host newly appointed candidates as they formally begin their government service.

The recruits will join departments such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services and Department of Higher Education. Other central ministries and organisations will also induct personnel during the event.

Officials said the induction would strengthen administrative capacity across sectors. They added that timely recruitment remains essential to improve public service delivery and institutional efficiency.

The government views the programme as part of a broader effort to translate policy commitments into measurable employment outcomes. Authorities said the initiative also supports inclusive growth by offering opportunities to youth from diverse educational and regional backgrounds.

Through continued large-scale recruitment, the Centre aims to meet staffing requirements while addressing employment aspirations. Officials said similar recruitment drives would continue in the coming months.
