New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will preside over the Seva Teerth inauguration and formally open Kartavya Bhavan-1 and 2 on February 13 in New Delhi.
The Prime Minister will unveil the name Seva Teerth at around 1:30 PM. Thereafter, he will inaugurate the complexes and address a public programme at the venue at around 6 PM. The Seva Teerth inauguration marks a significant shift in India’s administrative governance framework.
Seva Teerth will house the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat. Earlier, these offices functioned from separate locations. The new complex consolidates them within a single modern facility.
Kartavya Bhavan-1 and 2 will accommodate several key ministries. These include the Ministries of Finance, Defence, Health and Family Welfare, Education, Corporate Affairs, Culture, Law and Justice, Information and Broadcasting, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Tribal Affairs.
Governance transformation through Seva Teerth inauguration
For decades, many ministries operated from ageing and scattered infrastructure across the Central Vista area. As a result, departments faced coordination challenges and higher maintenance costs. The new complexes address these issues by bringing offices together in integrated spaces.
Both complexes feature digitally enabled offices and structured public interface zones. In addition, they include centralised reception areas to improve accessibility. These measures aim to enhance efficiency, collaboration and citizen engagement.
The buildings comply with 4-Star GRIHA standards. Therefore, they incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures and advanced waste management solutions. High-performance building envelopes further improve operational efficiency.
Moreover, the complexes include smart access control systems, surveillance networks and advanced emergency response infrastructure. Consequently, officials and visitors will benefit from a secure and accessible working environment.
