Realtor murder in Malkajgiri sparks fears over rising Hyderabad crime

Hyderabad: The realtor murder in Malkajgiri on Monday raised fresh concern about public safety after a realtor was chased and killed in broad daylight near Saket Colony.

Police said Venkataratnam was riding a scooter when unidentified attackers followed him near Foster Billabong School. They stabbed him with knives and then fired at him from close range. He died on the spot. Residents alerted police, and officers reached the area within minutes.

Teams shifted the body for post-mortem and opened a case. Officers also reviewed CCTV footage and spoke to witnesses to track the attackers’ route. Investigators said the suspects escaped before patrol units arrived.
