Revanth Reddy lays foundation for ₹600 crore residential schools in Nizamabad

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for integrated residential schools worth ₹600 crore in Nizamabad district on Friday as part of the Young India initiative.

The Chief Minister announced that the residential schools in Nizamabad would come up in Armoor, Bodhan and Nizamabad Rural Assembly constituencies. Each school will be built at a cost of ₹200 crore to strengthen access to quality education.

Revanth Reddy also launched multiple development works across the district during his visit. The programme was held under the state government’s ‘Praja Palana – Pragathi Bata’ public outreach initiative.

After the foundation ceremonies, the Chief Minister addressed a public meeting in Bardipur village of Dichpally mandal. He reiterated the government’s focus on inclusive development and said welfare and infrastructure projects would continue across Telangana.

At the event, the Chief Minister handed over a ₹200 crore bank linkage cheque to the Induru District Women’s Federation. The federation represents 1,614 self-help groups operating across the district.

Revanth Reddy said the state government would extend full support to complete pending irrigation projects in the district. He said Nizamabad’s agricultural practices served as a model for the country and assured additional funding to accelerate development works.

The Chief Minister also launched and announced several key infrastructure projects in the district. These included ₹20 crore SC girls’ and boys’ hostels at Telangana University in Dichpally, an ₹8.6 crore girls’ hostel and a ₹1.36 crore indoor stadium at the university.

The government also took up ₹43 crore worth of expansion works at Telangana University, covering the auditorium, administrative building and computer science engineering block. In addition, the Chief Minister inaugurated an ₹18 crore science laboratory at the university.

Road infrastructure projects worth ₹21 crore were also launched. These included widening works from Gandhi Nagar to Binola and from the PWD and JNN road to Nizampur via Sirnapally. The Chief Minister further announced expansion works at the Ekalavya Model Residential School and construction of staff quarters in Indalwai.

Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao, government advisor P. Sudarshan Reddy and senior Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir attended the foundation stone ceremonies along with other public representatives.
