Sanjay Seth inaugurates Advanced Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Ranchi

Ranchi: Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth inaugurated an Advanced Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Ranchi to strengthen Aadhaar services in Jharkhand. The new centre is located at Estate Plaza in Kantatoli. Authorities designed the facility with improved infrastructure and advanced technology.

Officials said the centre will provide faster and more transparent Aadhaar enrolment and update services for residents. Protean eGov Technologies Ltd will manage the day-to-day operations of the centre.

Previously, the Unique Identification Authority of India operated Aadhaar service centres in only three districts of Jharkhand. These districts included Ranchi, Dhanbad and East Singhbhum. However, authorities now plan to expand the network across the state.

UIDAI will establish new Aadhaar service centres in several districts in a phased manner. These districts include Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Deoghar, Godda, Dumka, Sahibganj, Saraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, Garhwa and Palamu. During the event, Sanjay Seth praised UIDAI for improving Aadhaar services in the region.

He said such initiatives increase transparency, efficiency and convenience in public service delivery. The minister also urged parents to complete the mandatory biometric update for children at the ages of five and fifteen.

He explained that these updates help children access government schemes, including scholarships. Moreover, updated Aadhaar records help students avoid issues while registering for entrance examinations such as NEET and CUET.

Rajya Sabha member Mahua Maji also attended the event. She encouraged parents to update their children’s biometrics and asked schools to help reduce pending biometric updates under UIDAI’s Mission Mode Campaign.

Officials from the UIDAI Regional Office in Ranchi also participated in the programme.

These included Deputy Director General Akhilesh Kumar Gupta and Director Neeraj Kumar. The new centre includes special facilities to improve accessibility for residents. Separate counters serve persons with disabilities, senior citizens and pregnant women. Additionally, the centre provides a feeding room for breastfeeding mothers. Authorities have also introduced Birth Registration Number-based child enrolment at the facility.
