Hyderabad: Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka and Government Advisor Shabbir Ali led a full day of welfare and development programmes in Kamareddy district on Thursday. They were accompanied by Zaheerabad MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar, and the teams reviewed market upgrades, women’s welfare schemes, and rural development initiatives. Moreover, the leaders underlined the government’s commitment to farmer support and transparent distribution systems.
At Bhiknoor mandal centre, the delegation laid the foundation stone for a ₹93 lakh shopping complex under the Agricultural Market Committee. They also launched ₹50 lakh worth of works to improve toilets and compound walls at the Kamareddy market. These efforts aim to strengthen local infrastructure so that daily market operations become smoother and more dependable for farmers and traders.
Seethakka said the Congress government is focused on enhancing farmer welfare through input subsidies, mechanisation assistance, and market linkages. She explained that vegetable farmers are receiving ₹9,600 per acre, which boosts seasonal income. Additionally, she said 125 farmers in every mandal are undergoing organic farming training to reduce cultivation costs and protect soil health.

Seethakka and Shabbir Ali highlight key welfare measures for rural families
Shabbir Ali said the Rythu Bharosa scheme provides ₹12,000 per acre annually in two instalments. Furthermore, farmers are receiving a ₹500 bonus per quintal for paddy over the MSP. He added that cotton procurement is progressing through CCI, and noted that the government is honouring its commitments on loan waivers and free power for farmers.
The leaders launched the One Crore Indiramma Sarees scheme at Bhiknoor. Seethakka said the initiative restores dignity to women through the supply of quality sarees during festivals. She explained that the sarees are distributed in phases through DWCRA groups to ensure transparency. Meanwhile, Shabbir Ali recalled that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy introduced the programme on Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary.
Later, the leaders visited mountaineer Malavath Poorna’s family in Pakala village of Sirikonda mandal to offer condolences after the death of her father Devidas. They then attended the valedictory of the 58th Library Week, where they distributed prizes to students and joined cultural programmes. Seethakka highlighted that the government has filled more than 75,000 jobs and announced plans to fill 15,000 Anganwadi posts.
They also laid the foundation stone for converting Kamareddy’s Indira Gandhi Stadium into an indoor stadium at a cost of ₹9 crore. Additionally, the leaders launched ₹96 lakh worth of works for an old age home, with a total sanction of ₹1.53 crore. Seethakka said the government is supporting SHGs with interest-free loans and providing free bus travel for women. She also announced 3,500 Indiramma houses per constituency and 200 free electricity units for households. Finally, Shabbir Ali emphasised the government’s commitment to minority welfare and the ongoing implementation of 4% reservation.
