Shabbir Ali launches development works in Kamareddy, BJP and BRS leaders join Congress

Kamareddy: Telangana Government Advisor Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Monday launched Kamareddy development works worth several crores, saying the Congress government was prioritising the municipality’s growth.

As part of the programme, Shabbir Ali laid foundation stones for multiple civic projects across Kamareddy Municipality. In Ward 6 at Old Rajampet and Sarampalli, he inaugurated internal roads and a new drainage system. Meanwhile, in Ward 13 at Tekrial, he launched cement concrete road works to improve basic infrastructure. At Adloor in Ward 1, he directed officials to clear pending works and initiated CC road and drainage projects.

Addressing residents later, Shabbir Ali said the Congress government focused on visible development rather than slogans. According to him, people should assess governments by their work on the ground. He therefore urged voters not to fall for provocative speeches and instead support development-oriented politics.

“Our aim is to strengthen the Congress in the municipality through development works,” he said. At the same time, he appealed to voters to reject divisive politics. He also cautioned against attempts to spread communal hatred and said democratic rejection was the right response.

In addition, Shabbir Ali outlined major welfare and infrastructure initiatives across Telangana. He spoke about the expansion of BT roads and modern drainage systems in towns and villages. He also referred to the upgrading of government schools into Amma Model Schools. Further, he highlighted improvements in government hospitals, including free medicines and modern medical equipment.

Kamareddy development works accompany political realignment

During his address, Shabbir Ali said the Congress government was accelerating the Indiramma housing scheme to help poor families with land build houses. He further explained the Mahalaxmi scheme, which provides free bus travel for women and subsidised gas cylinders. Likewise, he said farmers were benefiting from the Rythu Bharosa programme through input support and loan waivers.

“This government believes in action, not words,” Shabbir Ali said. He added that the Kamareddy development works would visibly change the town in the coming months.

Meanwhile, a major political shift unfolded alongside the programme. Several leaders and activists from the BJP and BRS formally joined the Congress in Kamareddy. Notably, leaders from Rajampet, Sarampalli, Tekrial, and Adloor resigned from their parties and joined the Congress in Shabbir Ali’s presence.

Welcoming them, Shabbir Ali said the Congress party’s development agenda was drawing leaders from other parties. He assured the new entrants of due recognition and responsibilities. As a result, he said, Congress workers in Kamareddy felt energised. He also indicated that more leaders could join the party soon.

A large number of Congress leaders, party workers, and local residents attended both the foundation stone ceremonies and the joining programme.
