Hyderabad: Newly appointed Telangana Governor Siva Pratap Shukla arrived in Hyderabad on Tuesday and received a welcome from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the airport.
Shukla and his spouse landed at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad earlier in the day. The Chief Minister greeted them and held a brief interaction after their arrival.
State Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu also attended the reception. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy were present as well.
Officials said Siva Pratap Shukla will take oath later on Tuesday. Aparesh Kumar Singh will administer the oath of office during the ceremony.
Authorities have arranged the swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad. Senior leaders and dignitaries are expected to attend the event.

Officials said preparations at Raj Bhavan are complete for the swearing-in ceremony. The event will formally mark the assumption of office by Siva Pratap Shukla.
The Union government recently reshuffled Governors in several states. As part of the exercise, authorities transferred him from his previous post as Governor of Himachal Pradesh to Telangana.
Meanwhile, the government transferred former Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to Maharashtra.
Officials said the ceremony later in the day will formally begin the new Governor’s tenure in the state.
