Telangana Global Summit 2047 set to spotlight ambitious Future City

Hyderabad: Elaborate preparations are underway for the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2047, which is expected to attract delegates from across India and abroad. The state government, however, is using the high-profile event as a launchpad to promote Future City—its ambitious fourth urban centre—where the summit will take place.

Located in Meer Khanpet, Ranga Reddy district, Future City is being developed across nearly 30,000 acres. The government aims to showcase the project’s potential through the summit, which will feature global-scale infrastructure and planning. By doing so, it hopes to attract both domestic and international investment.

Future City to anchor growth beyond Hyderabad

The project marks Telangana’s fourth major city after Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad. To ensure long-term planning, the state has already constituted the Future City Development Authority. Work has begun on key institutions, including the Young India Skills University and an AI university. In addition, both campuses will feature research and incubation centres.

Industrial parks and zones dedicated to IT and pharma sectors are also in the pipeline. Moreover, Global Capacity Centres (GCCs) are expected to anchor corporate activity. To enhance liveability, the city will offer recreational facilities such as gaming zones and weekend entertainment hubs.

Future City will stretch across 765 square kilometres and cover 56 villages in the Meer Khanpet–Mucherla region. The summit venue, situated just before the Amazon data centre in Meer Khanpet, is strategically positioned to highlight the location’s accessibility. It lies about 33 kilometres from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and can be reached in 45 minutes. From MGBS, the bus ride takes roughly 90 minutes.

In terms of connectivity, a new 41-kilometre greenfield road is being constructed. This will link Future City to the Outer Ring Road through Raviryala. Alternatively, travellers can reach the site from Tukkuguda via the Srisailam highway, which is just 20 kilometres away.

By hosting the Global Summit 2047 at Future City, Telangana is not only making a bold urban development pitch but also strategically positioning the site as a future economic engine.
