Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has cleared legal blocks to land registration and regularisation, a decision that impacts nearly 9 lakh applicants. The ruling allows immediate processing under the Bhu Bharati Act 2025.
In 2020, the government invited applications through GO 112. Around 2.26 lakh were submitted between October 10 and 29, followed by 6.74 lakh more. But the ROR Act 2020 excluded simple sale deed lands, freezing the process.
Bhu Bharati Act verdict brings relief to applicants
Legal experts explained that while the 1971 ROR Act included provisions for regularisation, they were removed in 2020. With the new Act, the legal framework has been restored, allowing clearance of all pending cases.
Revenue officials described the ruling as a major relief. Thousands of citizens who bought land through simple sale deeds will now get formal recognition of ownership after years of uncertainty.
