Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court is set to hear today the petitions filed by former Chief Minister KCR and former minister Harish Rao against the Justice P.C. Ghose Kaleshwaram commission. The BRS leaders claim the commission violated rules and denied them access to its report.
At the previous hearing, senior advocate Aryama Sundaram argued that the commission failed to follow procedure and served notices incorrectly. He said the petitioners were not given the report, even though the state presented a PowerPoint summary and handed out copies to the press. He alleged that the commission’s findings were politically designed to harm KCR and his party.
The state government countered that the report was already in the public domain, available on the official website and explained at a media briefing by the Chief Minister. Advocate General Sudarshan Reddy added that a three-member committee had been set up to review the report and that the government intended to place it before the Assembly.
The High Court bench had expressed concern that journalists received copies while the petitioners did not. It also sought clarity on whether the government would act on the commission’s findings directly or only after a legislative debate. The Chief Justice noted that the report submitted in court was not entirely legible and demanded clarity from the state.
