Vijayawada: Tummala Nageswara Rao meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu took place in Vijayawada to address pending inter-state issues and key development proposals. The Telangana Minister focused on strengthening coordination between the two States.
During the discussions, both leaders revisited their long association from the undivided Andhra Pradesh period. At the same time, they explored ways to advance cooperation in priority sectors affecting border districts.
Tummala examined a proposal to integrate five geographically enclosed gram panchayats under a revised administrative framework. As a result, the move could directly affect tribal livelihoods in the region. He stressed the need for careful planning to safeguard local interests.
Further, the minister reviewed plans to permanently restore the Pedda Vagu irrigation system. The project irrigates nearly 16,000 acres and benefits both States in an 85:15 sharing ratio. Therefore, he emphasised coordinated execution to ensure equitable distribution of water resources.

Meanwhile, the meeting covered proposals related to TTD-associated spiritual infrastructure in Khammam. In this context, he sought cooperation to expand religious amenities for devotees. Moreover, he discussed allocating five acres in Tirumala to develop facilities for Telangana pilgrims. The proposal aims to improve convenience and access for visitors.
In addition, Tummala reviewed the Sattupalli–Kovvur and Penuballi–Amaravati railway links. He said these projects would enhance regional connectivity and support economic growth. Finally, he addressed broader measures for inclusive development across border districts through closer inter-state coordination.
