Delhi: The UMEED Central Portal closed its six-month upload window on 6 December 2025. The Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju, launched the portal on 6 June 2025. The Ministry followed the timeline set under the UMEED Act, 1995, and the Supreme Court’s directions on uploading existing Waqf property details.
High-level coordination drove completion of UMEED Central Portal targets
As the deadline approached, review meetings, training sessions and senior-level interventions pushed the process forward. The final figures show a major national effort. Officials initiated uploads for 5,17,040 Waqf properties. They approved 2,16,905 entries and kept 2,13,941 in the pipeline for further action. They rejected 10,869 entries after verification.
The Ministry actively supported every stage of the exercise. It held continuous training sessions with State and UT Waqf Boards and Minority Departments. A master trainer workshop in Delhi offered hands-on guidance. Senior officials travelled across regions, seven zonal meetings reviewed progress and a dedicated helpline handled technical issues.
Throughout the six months, Secretary Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kumar led more than 20 review meetings. He guided states, resolved procedural gaps and pushed for accuracy. With the upload phase now complete, the UMEED Central Portal moves into its next stage. It aims to create transparent and unified digital management of Waqf properties across the country.
