Hyderabad: Vasavi Clubs International donated ₹25 lakh to the Telangana Sainik Welfare Fund on Tuesday to support ex-servicemen and their families.
The organisation made the contribution to the Sainik Welfare Department of the Government of Telangana. Through this initiative, Vasavi Clubs International aimed to strengthen welfare support for veterans.
On the occasion, International President Erukulla Rama Krishna presented the cheque to Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at Lok Bhavan. Subsequently, the Governor handed over the cheque to Captain R. Srinivasulu, Director of Sainik Welfare, Telangana.
Officials said the department would use the funds for welfare programmes for former defence personnel and their dependents. As a result, the contribution is expected to support multiple beneficiary initiatives.

Governor Jishnu Dev Varma appreciated the initiative taken by Vasavi Clubs International. He said such contributions reflected strong social responsibility.
“This generous gesture reflects a deep commitment to social responsibility. Moreover, collective efforts like these honour our ex-servicemen and strengthen societal welfare,” the Governor said.
Meanwhile, officials from the Sainik Welfare Department said contributions to the Sainik Welfare Fund played a vital role. They added that support from voluntary organisations helped address the long-term needs of veterans.
Furthermore, such partnerships strengthened institutional welfare mechanisms across the state. Therefore, cooperation between government departments and social bodies remained essential.
Vasavi Clubs International said it would continue to undertake similar initiatives. The organisation added that community welfare would remain a key focus of its activities in Telangana.
