Hyderabad: Telangana Labour and Mines Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy on Tuesday said the Congress two-year rule stood for inclusive welfare, unlike the previous BRS regime, which he accused of misleading people.
The Minister made the remarks after inaugurating a Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya school building worth ₹2.3 crore near Ellupalli in Siddipet Urban mandal. Siddipet MP Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao participated in the programme. Later, Vivek laid the foundation stone for cement concrete roads in 10 villages at Namcharpalli and unveiled a Telangana Thalli statue at the Siddipet Collectorate.
Vivek said the Congress government was implementing schemes promised under its six guarantees. He listed Indiramma housing, issuance of new ration cards, and supply of subsidised rice to poor families as key initiatives under the Congress two-year rule.
He accused the BRS of limiting welfare benefits to select sections during its tenure. In contrast, he said, the Congress government was delivering schemes to all eligible beneficiaries without discrimination. According to him, welfare reached people directly due to transparent implementation.
The Minister announced that new pensions would start rolling out from next month. In addition, he said the government had sanctioned 500 more Indiramma houses for the Siddipet constituency. He alleged that BRS leaders had misled the public for 10 years with promises of double-bedroom houses that never materialised.

Vivek said the Congress government had provided 10 lakh houses across the state in two years. He also said the government issued new ration cards that were pending during the BRS rule. He added that the state was distributing subsidised rice worth ₹12,000 crore to beneficiaries.
Referring to agriculture, the Minister said the Congress waived farm loans amounting to ₹23,000 crore soon after coming to power. He dismissed criticism of the loan waiver as a political attempt to divert attention. According to him, the government remained firmly committed to rural development.
The Minister said welfare schemes under the Congress two-year rule covered all sections of society. He assured villagers in Namcharpalli that issues raised during the programme would be resolved in coordination with the District Collector.
Vivek announced that development works worth ₹15 crore were planned for Siddipet town. He said the Telangana Thalli statue and the anthem Jaya Jaya He Telangana, written by Ande Sri, symbolised the spirit of public governance and cultural identity in the state.
