Ambedkar Buddhist path highlighted at Hussain Sagar event
Dr. Vivek Venkatswamy launched a Buddhist calendar at the Buddha statue at Hussain Sagar. The calendar was prepared under the aegis of the Bahujan Samyak Sanghatan.
Bahujan Samyak Sanghatan President Preetha Harit and noted Buddhist intellectual Bantiji attended the programme. Several followers and supporters also gathered at the venue.
Addressing the gathering, Preetha Harit said the country needed to embrace Buddhist values. She stressed that non-violence, peace, and love were essential for social harmony.
She said divisions were being created in the name of religion, caste, and social differences. According to her, society must eliminate such divisions to move towards unity and equality.
The organisers said programmes of this nature helped spread the teachings of Buddha and the ideals of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar among the people. They added that such efforts strengthened awareness of social justice and harmony.
