Vivek Venkatswamy reviews budget proposals with Bhatti

Hyderabad: Telangana Labour Minister Vivek Venkatswamy reviewed budget proposals with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka during a preparatory meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

The minister presented the financial requirements of the labour, Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) and employment training departments. He also requested adequate allocations to strengthen welfare schemes and improve services for workers.

Officials said the discussions focused on expanding welfare programmes and strengthening institutional support for labourers across the state.

The Labour Minister explained that the department continues to work actively to protect workers’ rights and ensure their welfare. In addition, the government plans to improve services through stronger policy support and financial resources.

Budget proposals highlight welfare and skill training plans

Vivek Venkatswamy said the employment and training department is focusing on equipping youth with skills suited to emerging industries. Therefore, Advanced Training Centres have introduced new courses aligned with modern technologies.

Moreover, the centres have started language training programmes to improve overseas employment opportunities for young people. Officials believe these initiatives will help youth secure better jobs abroad.

During the meeting, department officials explained the proposed programmes and their financial requirements. These budget proposals aim to expand training infrastructure and improve workforce readiness.

The minister also emphasised that the ESI department must provide timely and quality medical services to insured workers. Ensuring accessible healthcare for beneficiaries remains a top priority.

Meanwhile, the meeting also reviewed matters related to the mines department. Officials presented details about ongoing activities and revenue generation plans.

Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Labour Commissioner Pamela Sathpathi, Director of Employment and Training Kanthi Wesley, TSMDC Director Bhavesh Mishra and Mines Secretary N. Sridhar attended the meeting.

Senior officials from the labour and employment departments also participated in the discussions.
