Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the Telangana government was committed to Hyderabad development and transforming the city into a global urban centre. Speaking at the NAREDCO Telangana Property Show at HITEX on Friday, he said the government aimed to bring Hyderabad on par with the world’s most developed cities.
He also said Telangana sought to become one of India’s fastest-growing states. According to Bhatti, the real estate and construction sectors play a vital role in Hyderabad’s progress and the state’s economic growth. The government viewed professionals in these sectors as wealth creators and development partners, rather than merely businesspeople.
Bhatti said Hyderabad had several advantages over other major Indian cities. Recognised as one of the country’s most liveable cities, it continued to attract people from across India who wanted to settle there.
Hyderabad development plan involves Rs 84,790 crore
The Deputy Chief Minister said the government would strengthen and expand infrastructure created by previous administrations. At the same time, it would prioritise comprehensive urban development across the city and its surrounding areas.
He announced a comprehensive action plan involving an investment of approximately Rs 84,790 crore for Hyderabad and neighbouring areas. The plan covers infrastructure and development works intended to support the city’s expansion.
Design and tendering processes have already begun for projects worth nearly Rs 55,000 crore, Bhatti said. Meanwhile, several other projects have reached different stages of implementation.
He said residents would see extensive construction and development activity across Hyderabad in the coming days. The government, he added, remained committed to building a world-class city and strengthening Telangana’s economic growth.
