Hyderabad: The Congress government was improving rural infrastructure Telangana through focused civic works and welfare delivery, senior leader and Telangana government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir said on Tuesday.
Speaking after launching development works in Kamareddy municipality, Shabbir Ali said the government led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had prioritised basic needs in neglected regions. He added that visible progress on the ground, therefore, reflected policy intent rather than symbolic gestures.
He said the Congress government had taken up strengthening roads, drainage, education, and public amenities as a core strategy. As a result, small towns and semi-urban areas were now seeing sustained investment. He also noted that rural infrastructure Telangana development was essential for balanced growth.
Shabbir Ali inaugurated newly sanctioned cement concrete road works in Wards 4, 8, 29, 31, and 32 of Kamareddy municipality. According to him, these projects aimed to improve daily mobility and public safety. Moreover, he said similar works would soon extend to all municipal divisions.
Addressing corner meetings in Wards 4 and 29, he said the development drive would cover every colony in a phased manner. Meanwhile, he assured residents that long-pending civic demands were under active review.

Welfare measures underline rural infrastructure Telangana push
Shabbir Ali said welfare delivery and infrastructure expansion were being pursued together. Consequently, the government viewed rural infrastructure Telangana as a foundation for restoring public trust after years of neglect.
The programmes witnessed participation from local residents, party workers, and civic leaders. Several Congress leaders, including former DCC president Kailash Srinivas, Mandal Congress president Gudem Srinivas, Town Congress president Pandla Raju, Market Committee chairman Raja Goud, and former municipal councillors attended the events.
During his visit, Shabbir Ali interacted with families who had recently moved into Indiramma houses allotted by the Congress government. He said the housing initiative demonstrated a welfare-first approach. As a goodwill gesture, he presented clothes to new occupants in Harijanwada and Azampura.
Later, he visited the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Telangana BC Welfare Residential Girls’ School in Kamareddy. He reviewed infrastructure and academic facilities and discussed challenges with the school principal. Subsequently, he contacted BC Welfare Secretary Saidulu and sought immediate corrective steps to address gaps.
Highlighting the importance of sports in education, Shabbir Ali felicitated four students who had excelled at the national level in hockey. He donated ₹10,000 for purchasing hockey kits. He said nurturing talent among girls remained a key priority.
Reiterating the government’s inclusive vision, he said the Congress government was focusing on backward regions and marginalised communities. He added that the changes underway in Kamareddy formed part of a broader effort to ensure equitable development across Telangana.
