Hyderabad: Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao conducted a heritage works review in Hyderabad and directed officials to speed up pending projects.

He reviewed key sites along with AIMIM MLA Kausar Mohiuddin. They inspected Seven Tombs, Katora House and the KB Museum during the visit.

The minister assessed ongoing works at the Qutb Shahi Tombs complex. He instructed officials to resume pending works within a week and ensure early completion.

Moreover, he reviewed a proposed ropeway project linking Qutb Shahi Tombs to Golconda Fort. He directed officials to prepare the detailed project report after securing approvals.

Heritage works review focuses on tourism infrastructure plans

Jupally Krishna Rao said departments must coordinate to develop Katora House as a tourist destination. In addition, he asked GHMC officials to clear waste in surrounding areas.

He also suggested preparing proposals for a shopping complex near Golconda, on the lines of Lad Bazaar. This, he said, would boost tourist activity.

Further, the minister directed officials to improve the KB Museum and make it accessible to visitors. He also called for setting up a Khadi exhibition at the site.

At the same time, he instructed authorities to remove encroachments with police support. He said these steps would enhance visitor experience.

Jupally Krishna Rao added that the government aimed to promote Telangana’s heritage globally. He said strengthening tourism infrastructure remained a priority.
