HMDA earns Rs 261 crore through LRS fee collections

Hyderabad: HMDA LRS revenue reached Rs 261 crore as the Telangana government intensified efforts to clear pending layout regularisation applications across urban development bodies.

Officials said the government introduced a 25 percent rebate for applicants who paid LRS fees between July 1 and July 31. Authorities also focused on speeding up application clearances within HMDA, GHMC, CMC and MMC limits.

To improve the process, special help desks were established in the three municipal corporations. Officials said dedicated measures were also implemented in HMDA limits for faster disposal of applications.

According to official data, 85,954 applicants completed fee payments under the scheme within HMDA limits. These payments generated revenue of Rs 261.72 crore.

Officials stated that HMDA received a total of 2,90,369 LRS applications. Among them, authorities issued fee intimations for 2,01,453 applications.

HMDA LRS revenue grows amid pending applications

Officials said fee intimations were not issued for 54,021 applications because of various technical and procedural reasons.

Out of the applicants who received fee intimations, only 85,954 completed payments. Nearly 1.50 lakh applicants were yet to pay the required fee under the scheme.

Authorities approved 33,096 applications after fee payments were completed. At the same time, officials rejected 1,850 applications.

Another 34,183 applications remained pending with applicants, while 30,656 applications were still under official scrutiny.

The state government directed officials to speed up disposal of pending applications and strengthen monitoring across urban development authorities.
