Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy intensified Kishan Reddy criticism on Sunday. He accused the Union Minister of creating hurdles for Metro Rail expansion, Musi rejuvenation and the Regional Ring Road.
Speaking after inaugurating Khatri Bhavan and the Vanjari community self-respect building in Uppal, the Chief Minister outlined the government’s development agenda. He said Hyderabad needed better coordination and world-class infrastructure to meet future requirements. Accordingly, the government adopted the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document.
Revanth Reddy credited the people of Malkajgiri, especially women voters, for his political rise. He recalled that the constituency supported him during a difficult phase in his career. As a result, he later became an MP, TPCC president and eventually Chief Minister.
He said previous administrations failed to ensure coordination among departments. Therefore, the government decentralised governance and created new corporations. According to him, the move aimed to improve administration rather than gain electoral benefits.
The Chief Minister also announced projects worth Rs 1,600 crore in the region. Moreover, he assured residents that the government would fund roads, lake beautification and Metro expansion without considering party affiliations.
Revanth Reddy continues Kishan Reddy criticism over development delays
Defending the Musi River rejuvenation project, Revanth Reddy said the government planned to develop the river stretch from Gandipet to Gauravelli. He stated that the project would create jobs and strengthen tourism. In addition, he said it would improve environmental conditions in surrounding areas.
The Chief Minister noted that Musi pollution had affected public health in several regions. He also recalled undertaking a padayatra after residents demanded action to clean the river.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy alleged that a Union Minister was obstructing both Musi rejuvenation and Metro expansion. He argued that Hyderabad Metro required urgent expansion to meet growing demand. Furthermore, he questioned delays in approvals for key infrastructure projects.
Referring to the Regional Ring Road, the Chief Minister said he had approached the Centre many times. However, the project had not moved forward as expected. He asked whether Telangana’s representatives in the Union government should not support such initiatives.
Continuing his Kishan Reddy criticism, Revanth Reddy urged political leaders to cooperate on development matters. He said political battles could wait until elections. For now, he added, all parties should focus on Hyderabad’s growth.
He further announced that the second phase of the Musi rejuvenation project would begin within 100 days. Finally, he reiterated that his government would work with legislators from every party to accelerate development across the city.
