Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha said the Prashanth Reddy dispute had intensified over alleged betrayal of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. She said she would never forgive former BRS minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy.
Kavitha alleged that Prashanth Reddy had himself worked against Chandrashekar Rao. She also accused him of creating differences between KCR and his children.
She made the remarks while addressing the Panchajanya Sankalpa Sabha in Nizamabad. During the event, Kavitha also called for a new political force in Telangana.
Kavitha alleged that Prashanth Reddy met Congress leaders two days after the BRS lost power. She further accused him of benefiting from Chandrashekar Rao’s patronage before turning against him.
She said she could forgive former minister Harish Rao and former MP Santosh Kumar. However, she said Prashanth Reddy would not receive the same consideration.
Kavitha said she wanted to continue serving Nizamabad and sought another opportunity from the people. “I have worked here as the daughter-in-law of Nizamabad. Please give me another chance. You are my strength,” she said.
Prashanth Reddy dispute draws wider political attacks
Kavitha said she could join another party if her only aim involved pursuing politics. Instead, she said her political activity focused on serving people.
She also spoke about cases filed against her. “No matter how many cases were filed, I maintained that I had done nothing wrong. Why was I put in Tihar Jail?” Kavitha asked.
Meanwhile, she said the BRS showed no compassion when it removed her from the party during a difficult period. She added that her tears reflected the pain of remaining honest.
At the same time, Kavitha warned that people should not mistake her for a coward. She recalled how her mother-in-law supported her during her time in jail.
Turning to the Kaleshwaram project, Kavitha criticised the previous BRS government. She alleged that the project consumed ₹1 lakh crore but failed to provide water to even one acre in Nizamabad district.
She also alleged corruption during the BRS regime. According to Kavitha, the assets of MLAs from that period increased substantially over 10 years.
Meanwhile, she criticised the Congress government and alleged that it had achieved nothing during its 1,000-day tenure. She also accused the opposition of failing to question the government.
Kavitha expressed confidence that the Telangana Rakshana Sena would win five seats in Nizamabad district. She announced that the party would contest ZPTC and MPTC elections.
Finally, Kavitha said the party would provide free education and healthcare if it came to power.
