Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Moosarambagh Bridge across the Musi River on Monday.
The 400-metre bridge connects the Amberpet-Dilsukhnagar route. The Telangana government spent ₹52 crore on the project.
After the inauguration, Revanth Reddy inspected the bridge with elected representatives. He also viewed a photo exhibition highlighting the project.
The new crossing aims to prevent road disruptions during floods in the Musi River. Its structure can withstand flood flows of up to 1.5 lakh cusecs.
Consequently, the bridge is expected to improve road connectivity along the route. It will also help motorists during the monsoon season.
The project addresses a key transport challenge on a busy route between Amberpet and Dilsukhnagar. During heavy rain, flooding can disrupt movement across the Musi River.
With the new bridge, motorists will have an additional crossing over the river. This should support smoother traffic when water levels rise.
Government Adviser V. Hanumantha Rao attended the inauguration. MPs Asaduddin Owaisi and A.K. Yadav also joined the programme.
MLAs Malreddy Ranga Reddy, Kaleru Venkatesh, Sri Ganesh and Naveen Yadav attended the event as well. Other public representatives and officials also participated.
Moosarambagh Bridge strengthens Musi River connectivity
The Moosarambagh Bridge provides a new road connection across the Musi River. Moreover, its design allows it to withstand flood flows of up to 1.5 lakh cusecs.
The project is expected to reduce traffic disruptions during periods of heavy rain. It should also make travel more reliable for people using the Amberpet-Dilsukhnagar route.
At the same time, the bridge forms part of efforts to improve transport infrastructure around the Musi River. Its flood-resistant design focuses on maintaining connectivity during difficult weather conditions.
The ₹52-crore project has now opened for use. The 400-metre structure gives motorists another route across the Musi River.
The bridge could therefore ease pressure on existing crossings during the monsoon. It may also support more consistent movement between residential and commercial areas along the route.
The inauguration brought together state officials, elected representatives and other public figures. Their participation marked the opening of the new infrastructure project.
The government expects the bridge to provide lasting connectivity benefits. It also aims to reduce the impact of Musi floods on road movement in the area.
