Hyderabad: A. Revanth Reddy said Aarogyasri dues cleared worth Rs 2,408 crore, strongly rejecting opposition allegations over pending payments under the scheme.
Responding to questions raised by T. Harish Rao in the Assembly, the Chief Minister asserted that the government has been releasing payments regularly. Moreover, he emphasised that the Green Channel system ensures faster processing of Aarogyasri bills.
Aarogyasri dues cleared with transparent payment details
The Chief Minister explained that the previous government left behind dues of nearly Rs 600 crore. Of this, Rs 240 crore was pending for government-aided hospitals, while Rs 360 crore remained unpaid to private hospitals.
However, after assuming office, the current government significantly increased monthly disbursements. On average, it has released around Rs 89 crore every month. As a result, Aarogyasri dues cleared have now reached Rs 2,408 crore.
He further detailed that the government paid Rs 927 crore to government hospitals. In addition, it released Rs 1,480 crore to private hospitals, thereby improving financial stability across the healthcare network.
Regular payments boost confidence among hospitals
The Chief Minister stressed that the government remains committed to clearing all pending dues systematically. Therefore, officials continue to process payments without delays.
Because of consistent fund flow, hospitals have regained confidence in the scheme. Consequently, participation from private healthcare providers has improved.
At the same time, he dismissed opposition claims that payments were not being released as promised. Instead, he said such allegations were misleading and created unnecessary confusion among the public.
Aarogyasri dues cleared amid political criticism
Addressing concerns about patient welfare, the Chief Minister rejected claims that poor beneficiaries were suffering. He asserted that the scheme continues to function effectively and ensures access to quality healthcare.
Meanwhile, he also alleged misuse of the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) during the previous regime. According to him, certain individuals mishandled funds, and an inquiry is currently underway.
He added that authorities will disclose full details soon. Ultimately, he reiterated that Aarogyasri dues cleared remains a top priority for the government as it strengthens public healthcare delivery across Telangana.
