Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch the second phase of the Indiramma housing programme in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district on June 2 during Telangana Formation Day celebrations.
Revenue, Housing and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy visited the district on Wednesday and reviewed arrangements for the programme. He inspected locations identified for the Chief Minister’s visit and examined ongoing housing construction works.
Excise, Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, MLC Dande Vittal, District Collector K. Haritha and Bellampalli MLA Gaddam Vinod accompanied the Minister during the inspection.
Addressing officials, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the government was giving top priority to public welfare and state development. He added that the Indiramma housing programme received a strong response from people across Telangana.
According to the Minister, the government was continuing efforts to provide permanent and dignified housing for poor families. He also said the administration was constructing houses for tribal families in Kothari village under the scheme.
Indiramma housing programme targets eligible families
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the government was implementing several welfare schemes with special focus on women and economically weaker sections.
He referred to programmes such as Mahalakshmi, Gruhajyothi, ration cards, Indira Mahila Shakti and Rajiv Aarogyasri. Moreover, he said the government viewed women as the foundation of every family and designed welfare measures accordingly.
The Minister assured that officials would sanction houses to every eligible poor family during the second phase of the Indiramma housing programme. Therefore, he asked beneficiaries not to worry about housing allotments.
He further instructed officials to ensure smooth coordination for the June 2 launch event in Asifabad. In addition, authorities reviewed infrastructure and logistical arrangements linked to the Chief Minister’s visit.
Later, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy distributed accreditation cards to eligible print and electronic media journalists for the 2026-28 term at the Integrated District Collectorate complex.
Public representatives, government officials and department staff attended the programme. Officials said preparations for the Indiramma housing programme launch were progressing according to schedule.
