Hyderabad: Telangana ministers reviewed Bonalu arrangements on Wednesday and directed officials to ensure smooth conduct of the Ashada Masam Bonalu Jatara-2026 across Hyderabad and surrounding districts.
A review meeting was held at MCRHRD in Hyderabad. Hyderabad In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Minister for Minorities Welfare and Public Enterprises Mohammed Azharuddin, senior officials and temple committee representatives attended the meeting. Endowments Minister Konda Surekha joined the discussions through video conference.
Ponnam Prabhakar said the festival would be celebrated on a larger scale this year. He noted that the celebrations, which were earlier concentrated within Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits, would now be organised with greater grandeur across three corporation areas.
He stressed the need for coordination among all departments. Moreover, he directed officials to provide adequate facilities for devotees and prevent any shortcomings during the festivities.
Konda Surekha thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for allocating ₹20 crore for the celebrations. She instructed officials to maintain high standards of organisation throughout the festival period.
Bonalu arrangements to cover four districts
The Minister directed departments to work together and ensure all required facilities are ready before the festivities begin. The celebrations will take place from July 16 to August 13 in Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts.
She announced that the festival would commence at the Sri Jagadamba Mahankali Temple in Golconda on July 16. Thereafter, celebrations will continue at various temples until August 13.
Officials from several departments participated in the meeting. These included representatives from GHMC, Electricity, Roads and Buildings, Water Works, Health, Fire Services, RTC, Metro Rail, Tourism and Information and Public Relations.
Among those present were MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLC Boggarapu Dayanand, MLAs Naveen Yadav and Danam Nagender, DGP C.V. Anand, Endowments Principal Secretary Sailaja Ramaiyar and other senior officials.
The government said the Bonalu arrangements would focus on providing a safe and convenient experience for devotees while ensuring the successful conduct of one of Telangana’s most significant cultural and religious festivals.
