Governor urges nurturing students to build nation’s future

Hyderabad: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla urged educators and parents to focus on nurturing students through education, discipline and values, saying the future of students determines the future of the nation.

Speaking at a free notebook distribution programme organised by Bharat Sevashram Sangh at Lok Bhavan Community Hall on Wednesday, the Governor said every student is like a sapling that can grow into a strong tree with proper care and guidance.

He encouraged students to excel in their chosen fields and bring recognition to their families, villages and the country.

Earlier in the day, Shukla planted a sapling at the Lok Bhavan Government High School campus. He used the occasion to draw a comparison between nurturing plants and shaping young minds.

He said a sapling requires constant care and protection to become a mighty tree. Similarly, students need quality education and guidance. He also urged teachers to protect children from drug abuse and the harmful effects of excessive social media use.

Furthermore, he praised Bharat Sevashram Sangh for its contribution to society. He said the organisation’s motto, “Manava Seva Madhava Seva,” reflects its dedication to service and compassion.

He also commended the organisation’s work in disaster relief, healthcare and education. According to him, such efforts strengthen social welfare and community development.

Meanwhile, Shukla said the Telangana government is working to transform the state into a centre for education and sports. He added that initiatives such as Young India Integrated Residential Schools will provide equal opportunities to students from different backgrounds.

Later, the Governor visited an anganwadi centre on the Lok Bhavan campus. He interacted with children before distributing notebooks to students.
