BRS alleges secret BJP-Congress alliance to target party in Telangana

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan on Wednesday alleged that the BJP and Congress were maintaining a secret alliance in Telangana and working together to defame the BRS and its leadership.

Addressing the media at Telangana Bhavan, Sravan claimed that despite claiming ideological differences, both parties were acting in coordination against former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. He accused them of running a deliberate misinformation campaign to malign the BRS.

Sravan questioned the credentials of Maharashtra government advisor Vedire Sriram and asked what contribution he had made to Telangana. He alleged that Sriram was repeating the Congress narrative and making baseless allegations against KCR.

He further claimed that despite his expertise in irrigation, Sriram remained silent on Andhra Pradesh’s water interests. Instead, he accused him of selectively targeting Telangana and KCR. Sravan alleged that Sriram operated from command rooms and even from former TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy’s chamber, suggesting political collusion.

BRS alleges BJP Congress alliance on water and governance issues

Sravan said BJP leaders in Telangana were supporting the Congress by staying silent on key state issues. He questioned whether any BJP MLA had raised concerns against the Congress government. “Revanth Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Vedire Sriram are conspiring together to malign KCR,” he alleged.

He criticised Sriram for remaining silent on the allocation of 299 TMC of water to Telangana during united Andhra Pradesh under Kiran Kumar Reddy’s tenure. He also accused the BJP of delaying the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict to appease Andhra Pradesh leaders such as Chandrababu Naidu.

Challenging Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, Sravan asked them to speak on Telangana’s rightful share of river waters. He said their silence exposed the alleged alliance between the BJP and Congress.

Sravan likened Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to “bade bhai and chhote bhai” working together. He accused BJP MPs and MLAs of serving Andhra interests instead of defending Telangana’s rights.

BRS leaders Palle Ravikumar, Gosula Srinivas Yadav, Kuruva Vijay Kumar and Katla Swami Yadav were present at the press conference.
