Hyderabad: MLC Dr Dasoju Sravan alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government functioned like a real estate mafia and abandoned public interest within two years of assuming office.
While addressing the media, Dasoju Sravan said the Congress government weakened the Land Ceiling Act introduced by former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao. He also accused the ruling party of dismantling progressive land reforms enacted during Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure.
According to him, laws meant to recover surplus land from the wealthy now served political interests. He alleged that the government rewarded party defections through illegal land regularisation under a politics of “nazrana”.
Referring to the Gajula Ramaram case, Dasoju Sravan alleged illegal encroachment of 11 acres following the defection of Arikepudi Gandhi. He claimed authorities regularised the land soon after the political switch.
Such actions, he said, showed that praising the Chief Minister or joining the ruling party resulted in automatic land transfers. The pattern reflected systematic misuse of public land, he alleged.
He explained that Survey No. 307 in Gajula Ramaram village spanned 411 acres in total. Official records showed that the government acquired 317 acres under the Land Ceiling Act. Only 123 acres and 28 guntas remained private land.
CM Revanth Reddy land grab allegations
Dasoju Sravan alleged continued illegal activity on land covered by the Land Ceiling Act. He claimed officials showed government land in the name of Sheikh Imam in 1991, despite its vesting with the state before 1980.
Later, forged documents allegedly showed the same land as sold again in 2006. Four individuals reportedly sold 128.28 acres using fabricated records, he said. Development continued on the land until 2015.
Fresh attempts to reclaim and encroach upon the land have now emerged, according to Dasoju Sravan. He alleged that the government re-registered already sold land using fake documents after Arikepudi Gandhi’s defection.
Illegal entries also appeared in the Bhu Bharati portal in the same name, he said. Such changes could not have occurred without official backing, he alleged.
Dasoju Sravan said Madhavaram Krishna Rao submitted complaints to the CCLA, Chief Secretary, District Collector, GHMC Commissioner, HYDRA Commissioner, Vigilance Commissioner and police authorities. Despite assurances of immediate action from the HYDRA Commissioner, illegal boundary fencing appeared overnight, he claimed.
Questioning the silence of authorities, he asked whose wealth the government was distributing. Unchecked land grabbing, he warned, would deprive future generations.
He dismissed the government’s inquiry into IDPL lands as selective and misleading. The inquiry ignored Survey No. 307 despite repeated demands, he said. He also alleged that HYDRA issued illegal blue sheets in violation of established rules.
Challenging Revanth Reddy, Dasoju Sravan urged him to visit Survey No. 307 and face the facts on the ground. He demanded an immediate halt to all activity on land covered under the Land Ceiling Act.
Seeking accountability, he called for an inquiry into officials who granted illegal permissions. He also questioned whether Bhu Bharati had turned into “Bogus Bharati”.
Criticising the government’s priorities, he said leaders spoke daily about KCR, KTR and Harish Rao instead of focusing on development and alleged welfare schemes failed to reach villages.
He questioned the ₹200 crore expenditure on events and asked who authorised GO No. 9 while court cases were pending and demanded disqualification of defecting MLAs and accused the government of weakening constitutional norms.
Dasoju Sravan challenged the government to conduct MPTC and ZPTC elections immediately. He alleged that Congress and BJP functioned alike and accused Revanth Reddy of political double standards.
He concluded by questioning the lack of action on the Amrut scam complaint filed by KTR.
