Congress BLA App launched to identify duplicate voters in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad District Congress Committee President Syed Khalid Saifullah launched the Congress BLA App to help Booth Level Agents identify duplicate voters and assist citizens during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Launching the application during a BLA training programme, Khalid Saifullah said the platform was developed exclusively for Hyderabad district. He said the initiative aims to equip grassroots Congress workers with technology-based tools for voter verification and electoral roll management.

According to him, every registered BLA will receive secure access through an OTP-based login system. Once logged in, users can access a dedicated section that identifies potential duplicate voters based on matching details such as names, father’s names, house numbers and other identifiers.

He said the application enables BLAs to quickly detect duplicate entries and submit the required forms to the Election Commission for verification and deletion of such records.

Khalid Saifullah stressed that maintaining an accurate voter list remains the responsibility of Booth Level Agents. Therefore, he urged party workers to actively participate in voter-list verification at the booth level.

Congress BLA App supports voter verification efforts

The Hyderabad DCC president said Congress volunteers have already compiled and analysed voter data across the city. As a result, BLAs will have additional support while verifying electoral rolls.

He urged party workers to dedicate the next month to voter verification with the same commitment displayed during elections. Moreover, he said the exercise would help ensure transparency and accuracy in voter records.

Khalid Saifullah also outlined plans for long-term monitoring of newly added voters. According to him, data analytics tools within the Congress BLA App can detect suspicious duplicate entries created through minor changes in names or age details.

He said the system would continue monitoring future additions even after existing duplicate records are removed. Consequently, party workers can identify irregularities at an early stage.

The application also features a voter mapping module that provides booth-wise voter information. In addition, BLAs can conduct field surveys alongside Booth Level Officers through the platform.

Using the survey feature, volunteers can guide citizens on documentation requirements under the Special Intensive Revision process. The Congress BLA App is expected to strengthen voter verification efforts and improve coordination at the booth level.
