Cyberabad Police sports meet 2025 inaugurated

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty inaugurated the Cyberabad Police sports meet 2025 at the CPO Parade Grounds, marking the start of a three-day programme focused on fitness, teamwork, and professional skills.

The Commissioner inaugurated the 8th Annual Sports, Games and Duty Meet on December 16 along with Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Gajarao Bhupal and senior officers. At the start of the event, the CP received a ceremonial salute from police athletes representing different zones. He later released balloons and pigeons before formally declaring the Cyberabad Police sports meet open.

Addressing participants, Avinash Mohanty congratulated the staff and urged personnel to take part actively in sports. He said physical fitness strengthened both the body and the mind. According to him, the Sports and Games Meet promoted camaraderie, while the Duty Meet allowed personnel to demonstrate professional competence.

Cyberabad Police sports meet draws participation from all zones

CAR Headquarters DCP Sanjeev said police personnel from five Law and Order zones and other wings were taking part in the Cyberabad Police sports meet 2025. He added that the event would continue from December 16 to 18. He also urged personnel to make exercise part of their daily routine. In total, 1,022 police personnel are participating, including more than 168 women staff members.

Meanwhile, CAR Headquarters ADCP Shameer said organisers scheduled separate events for men and women over the three days. Outdoor events include 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, and 1,500 m races, along with relay races, long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, and 5 km and 10 km runs. In addition, indoor events include badminton, table tennis, tennis, chess, and carrom. Yoga and bodybuilding were introduced this year.

Organisers divided participants into 10 teams representing Madhapur, Shamshabad, Balanagar, Rajendranagar, Medchal, Traffic Wing, Crimes Wing, CAR Headquarters, CSW, and Ministerial Staff. As a result, all zones and wings recorded strong participation, adding to the competitive spirit.

On the opening day, officials conducted the 4×100 m relay races for men and women. For the men’s event, the CAR Headquarters team secured first place, followed by the Traffic Wing and CSW teams. For the women’s relay, CAR Headquarters finished first, while the Traffic Wing and Balanagar Zone claimed second and third places.

Senior officers, including DCPs Ritiraj, Yogesh Goutam, Y V S Sudheendra, A Muthyam Reddy, Srujana Karnam, Shoban Kumar, and other ADCPs, ACPs, inspectors, and staff attended and participated in the programme.
