Kavitha raises concerns over lack of Falaknuma temple amenities

Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha has raised concerns over the lack of basic Falaknuma temple amenities. She said devotees face hardships at the Khali Matha temple in Hyderabad’s Old City. The temple attracts thousands of worshippers every day.

Kavitha visited the temple on Saturday and performed special prayers. Later, she spoke to the media. She said the shrine holds immense religious significance for Hyderabad residents. However, devotees continue to face difficulties because essential facilities are missing.

She pointed out that the temple lacks proper road access and basic amenities, including washrooms for women. These shortcomings, she said, add to the difficulties worshippers face. The temple’s location has also complicated efforts to improve access. Railway land surrounds the premises, and a burial ground lies nearby. Establishing road connectivity has therefore become a challenge.

Kavitha promises to improve Falaknuma temple amenities

Kavitha assured devotees that she would coordinate with the Endowments department and railway authorities to improve access to the temple. She said she would work towards providing road connectivity and ensuring essential facilities for worshippers. She also urged the local MLA to take the initiative to resolve the problems.

Her assurance followed concerns about the daily hardships devotees face at the religious site. The proposed efforts would focus on road access and the lack of basic facilities, particularly washrooms for women. Better Falaknuma temple amenities would depend on coordination between the relevant departments and railway authorities to address the access challenge.
