Hyderabad: Authorities issued a heatwave red alert across several Telangana districts, warning of extreme temperatures and dry weather conditions over the coming days.
Officials said temperatures will intensify between April 27 and 30. Northern and central districts may record highs between 44°C and 46°C. Therefore, authorities placed these regions under a heatwave red alert due to severe conditions.
At the same time, weather officials predicted thunderstorms in parts of southern and eastern Telangana. In addition, Hyderabad may receive rainfall on April 28 and 29. However, experts said the overall weather pattern will remain unstable for the next ten days.
Heatwave red alert brings fluctuating weather conditions
On one hand, intense heat will persist across most districts. On the other hand, sudden thunderstorms may bring brief rain spells. As a result, officials warned that these shifts could cause discomfort for residents.
From May 1 to 3, heatwave conditions are likely to return in southern and eastern districts. Temperatures may range between 44°C and 45°C. Meanwhile, most regions will continue to experience dry weather.
Between May 4 and 8, conditions may change again. Several areas, including Hyderabad, may witness thunderstorms with gusty winds. Although the heatwave intensity may ease slightly, temperatures are expected to remain between 41°C and 43°C.
Officials advised residents to stay cautious during this period. They urged people to avoid prolonged exposure to heat and to seek shelter during sudden rain or strong winds.
