Hyderabad: Medak bus fire gutted a private traveller bus on a national highway near Masaipet early Monday, prompting a police and fire response.
The incident occurred around 5 am when flames suddenly erupted in the vehicle. Police said the bus belonged to Hyderabad and had undergone repairs in Medak. It was returning when the fire broke out.
Flames spread quickly and destroyed the bus within a short time. However, no passengers were on board during the incident. As a result, authorities prevented a major mishap.
Medak bus fire disrupts highway movement
Ramayampet CI Venkata Raja Goud and Chegunta SI Chaitanya Kumar Reddy reached the spot soon after receiving information. They assessed the situation and coordinated emergency measures.
Fire personnel arrived promptly and brought the flames under control. Meanwhile, officials began an investigation to identify the cause of the fire.
The incident disrupted traffic on the national highway for some time. However, police later cleared the route and restored normal movement.
