Hyderabad: Hyderabad police launched a Numaish road safety awareness drive by setting up special stalls at the annual exhibition to educate visitors on traffic rules, women’s safety, and public security.
City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar and Additional DGP Charusinha inaugurated the police stalls on Wednesday. The initiative aimed to bring police services closer to citizens and create awareness on various safety-related issues.
Speaking at the venue, Sajjanar said Numaish had become an integral part of Hyderabad’s identity, alongside Charminar and biryani. He noted that the exhibition, which began in 1938 with a handful of stalls, had grown into one of the country’s largest industrial exhibitions over the last 85 years.
The commissioner said the exhibition reflected national integration and the city’s Ganga-Jamuni culture. He added that the police stalls were designed to educate people, especially children, on road safety and traffic discipline.
Sajjanar urged parents to bring their children to the police stalls. He said early awareness of traffic rules would help them grow into responsible citizens. He also praised the traffic police for working tirelessly and commended Joint Commissioner of Police Joel Davis for his leadership.

Numaish road safety stalls highlight women and cyber safety
Additional DGP Charusinha said stalls set up by the Women Safety Wing, Bharosa, and She Teams would reassure women about their safety. She said the exhibition provided an effective platform to educate the public on laws and safety mechanisms.
The police stalls also focused on cybercrime awareness and preventive measures, officials said. Visitors received guidance on avoiding online fraud and seeking timely police assistance.
On the occasion, representatives of the Exhibition Society presented a cheque of ₹15 lakh to Hyderabad police as a donation.
The event was attended by Joint CP (Traffic) D. Joel Davis and DCPs Rahul Hegde, G. Chandramohan, V. Aravind Babu, and Lavanya Nayak Jadhav. Exhibition Society vice-president Sukesh Reddy, secretary B. N. Rajeshwar, treasurer Dr N. Sanjeev Kumar, and other officials were also present.
